“I am willing…”

(Matt 8:2-3) “And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean. Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”

When we come to the Lord Jesus with expectations without being demanding, that is the humble approach that He wants us to have, that is the humble heart that we must have.
In the above verses, it is clear that the leper wanted Jesus to heal him. He came to the Lord with sincere faith being convinced that He is capable to do this miraculous work, totally trusting Him.
At the same time he was submissive to His sovereign will. He knew that the Lord was able to instantly cure him if He wanted to and he was willing to accept whatever outcome Jesus provided.

The Lord Jesus touched the leper even though He could have healed him without doing so, with a single word. But He made a point of touching him, wanting to reach out to touch an outcast as no one else would, and saying “I am willing; be cleansed”, immediately his leprosy was cleansed and his disease simply disappeared.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, family and friends, do you expect our Lord to answer your prayers? Are you currently praying for a pressing matter? Please do not discount faith, do not be guilty of doubt and double-mindedness, but boldly place yourself and others under Christ’s capable safekeeping, simply put your trust in Him.

We can never be too good to look lovingly into the face of another, to offer all we have, our acceptance and full help to whatever problem they are facing.

Do you sincerely have the Love of Christ within you? Live it every second of your life and that will clearly show your genuine love for others.

Love in Christ,
