Worship of Mary in Harissa, Lebanon

The Bible is very clear concerning worship or spiritual homage. When tempted by the devil, the Lord Jesus Himself quoted the Bible. Look what the devil asked, and see what was the answer of Jesus:

“Again the devil takes him to a very high mountain, and shews him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory, and says to him, All these things will I give thee if, falling down, thou wilt do me homage. Then says Jesus to him, Get thee away, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt do homage to [the] Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:8-10)

So spiritual homage or worship belongs to God alone!

Now, please, watch this video and tell me if this is not worship…

If this is not worship or spiritual homage, then I wonder what would worship look like for Marians… What do they do more than this to God in order to worship Him which makes all what we saw in the video something less than worship?…

“Thou shalt not make thyself any graven image, or any form of what is in the heavens above, or what is in the earth beneath, or what is in the waters under the earth:  thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them”
(Exodus 20:4-5)

One Response to Worship of Mary in Harissa, Lebanon

  1. Mary T says:

Even if it were a statue of Jesus, it would still be idolatry. In earlier times, they actually may have thought by walking up those steps, they were earning “indulgences” to get them out of their mythological Purgatory.
